So you come into my replies on my instance and then block me.
This is what you think happens:
“Haha, everyone will see my reply and he can’t respond.”
Here’s what actually happens:
- You piss me off
- I suspend your account and delete your data from my server so it no longer distributes your reply
- I post a screenshot of your reply so everyone can see the mental gymnastics you have to employ to defend Israel
- You learn something new

Screenshot of my post:

Folks, if your strategy is to vote multiple times (at ~€1/pop) to try and influence the Eurovision Song Contest outcome against Israel: please don’t.

Financially rewarding the EBU will only make them look successful. You don’t buy all the beer at the fascist bar to teach them a lesson.

@verenalettmayer@hessen.social:

@aral and i guess you think you are an anti-fascist. sorry,: excluding and bullying a person because of their affiliation to israel is not anti-fascist, but ... You know what.
and for 1000 times: no governments participate in the #esc, but independent broadcasters (that's why russia was also suspended, because NOT independent).

Content warning: Tesla

Tesla has done something truly unique with the cybertruck.
Been doing a lot of car shopping lately. Most of the time I see a picture of a car & don’t love it, looks weirdly disproportionate, but then I see it in person & it looks much better. Cars are generally designed to be seen in person, in 3D, with human focal length and ocular distance.
Cybertruck: As hideous as it looks in pictures, it actually looks 10x worse irl. Like someone made a replica for their kid out of f…

Random appreciation post:
It seems like every time I look, OpenAlex is even better than it was before (and it's been really good for a long while now). The data gets better, the interface gets better, all of it. Bit by bit OpenAlex is replacing pretty much every other data source in my bibliometric research.

TIL: A DP cable can carry enough power from one GPU to another to light up the RGB LED on it, and also spin a case fan that's on molex, somehow. So I finished the build, and went to post it. My dumb ass forgot I replaced my monitor DVI cables with DP>DVI. Hooked up what I thought was the monitor and got nothing. Then I realized I had actually connected this PC's GPU to the "new" build GPU 🤣 😬 . Fixed it, still no display. Powered off/on, post, boot device message. whew. …

Black PC case with the Mobo and cooler tower installed. Cooler tower clears the side panel of the PC case by about 4mm, btw. The GPU hasn't been installed yet. There is also a big fan hole in the middle of the case front cause I don't have an extra fan atm. I'll get to it.
The back of the PC case after all the connections have been run and tidied up. Everything is black. There's a pair of SSD carriages in the middle. The back of the case has a popout built into it so it can clear the drives, if they are installed. I haven't bothered, yet. PSU is at the bottom with all the cables tucked in front of it to the left.
Front of the finished build after all the components have been installed and wired in. Looks pretty clean if I do say so myself.

About three years ago we replaced our copper kitchen sink with something else.
I put the copper sink in the basement because I wanted to sell it for scrap.
And then I never did, but recently a friend of mine started doing metal casting, and then posted "Does anyone have scrap copper they don't want?"
So I told him I'd sell it to him at half the going scrap value amount.
And yesterday he picked up the sink, and then melted it into copper ingots. Cool!…

A pile of copper ingots.

The obvious bias on this poll, if it even gets statistically significant votes at all, is that people with so many followers that it's annoying to get replies don't follow me and so won't see it to vote No as much as you'd otherwise expect.
